User Reviews for O'Neys Salon & Spa

Just a brief note to say I worked at O'Ney's on 2 separate occasions, and have nothing but good things to say about Judy Roberts and Shirley Barnhart. I came from a local competitor and was very apprehensive about the transition. The O'Ney family welcomed me with open arms. To all of the negative comments out there, truth be told, if anything caused the demise of O'Ney's, it was the extreme generosity of these two not only toward their employees, but also their clients. They offered the most generous commissions with the greatest benefits of any salon locally. They gave from their heart to local charities and those in need. To those going elsewhere, clients and employees alike, we should all be so lucky to have experienced the degree of success The O'Ney family has celebrated over the years. I wish them well, and much continued success. Carrie Taylor

I purchased my beautiful wife a rather expensive gift card as an adjunct to her Christmas, as I knew she would never spend such money on herself. When she retruned home after her day at the Spa, she told me that she felt that she was undervalued as a customer and made to wait for 45 minutes, then rushed thru her treatments. She attributes this to the fact that she used a gift card, even though she tips well. Had I had known then, what I know now, the management and I would have had words. I paid a premium price and I expected my wife to be treated with the utmost consideration and respect. Men, if you are looking to treat you wife or girlfriend to a day of pampering at a luxurious Spa, choose elswhere. Sincerly, Jon Hochreiter RN.

Pros: Ambience

Cons: Rude staff, pressured to get in and out

I received a “day of pampering” package for my birthday in February and was not impressed. Customer service at this spa is lacking and my general impression of this spa is that it is ‘tired’ and ‘outdated’. The dressing room was overflowing with dirty laundry when I arrived at 8:45 in the morning. The robe I was given to wear for the day was obviously older and very worn. My ‘spa lunch’ was served in the lobby/reception area and consisted of bagged lettuce salad mix topped with cold chicken chunks and goldfish crackers. I was also given water, and some sort of pudding with mandarin oranges for dessert. It was cold, loud, and very impersonal, as there were at least 10 to 15 people in the lobby area, including children. I would not recommend a day spa package at this establishment.

Pros: massage

Cons: atmosphere, lunch, customer service,

I have had the best experienace possible!!!! I was at O'neys last night and got the BESTcut and style of my life! I cut off over 12 inches of my hair and decided to donate it to a worthy charity. I was terrified. I have had long hair all my life and was afraid of change....My stylist who coincidently is named below as the worst stylist from another customer....and i don't understand why......I guess you can't please....everyone......(laura W.) Gave me the BESTmake over possible..I feel 20 years younger.... my stylist had fresh ideas and was very trendy with her own style, and she helped me find the best cut and style....for my face and age.....I would highley recommend her to anyone!!!!!!!!!! The whole atmosphere of the salon was excellent....it was the most unique salon I have ever been into...my stylist was kind enough to give me a tour...i just couldn't believe how cool this place was!!! It is HUGE !They even have a small cafe and gift shop....It is a really neat place ...prices were fair....Will definately return.....

Pros: Great stylist, great atmosphere, fair price

Cons: none

Went to O'Neys in Dayton last night for a cut and style. My level three designer (laura williams) had no clue how to cut or style my hair. She proceeded to spend around 5 minutes cutting. She then dried my hair. She then proceeds to hand me the hair spray so I can style my own hair??? This designer is supose to be one of their best. Needless to say, my hair is awful. The cut is a joke. Most of my hair hasn't even been touched. I called first thing today to complain. Talked with a guy that claims he is the manager. He had a very bad attitude. Saying that it must be me, because she is the best and they never have any complaints. I use to go here for several years when James and Tammy worked there. I guess they just hire anyone now a days. I probably could have received a better cut at a place n the Mall. $40. is a total joke when you get half a hair cut and you have to style your own hair. Stay away. Save your money. O'neys does not care if you are happy with their service.

Pros: Nothing

Cons: Stylist that do not know how to cut or style. Manager that cares less if you are satisfied.
